A 'revolutionary' skin preparation system called for by NHS staff and recommended by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in the fight against MRSA and other bacteria responsible for bloodstream infections, is now available in the UK.

ChloraPrep® is the only non-touch skin antiseptic system to contain 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and 70% isopropyl alcohol. This solution is widely recognised as the gold-standard for skin preparations in both the US and UK, providing rapid and persistent disinfection of the skin.

ChloraPrep® has been endorsed by the Government's Health Protection Agency Rapid Review Panel which awarded the system a 'Recommendation One' - one of only three products to receive the highest award for contributing to the fight against healthcare-associated infections*.

Until now, NHS trusts using the 3mL One-Step ChloraPrep® system have been restricted to ordering small quantities off-licence. However, with ChloraPre... read more

There are many products that claim to kill many virses and "bugs" including MRSA, C-Diff etc etc.

Our product, Steri-7 is proven to do so. Not only this but Steri-7 is also PROVEN to be just as effective between cleans even when dry for seven days!

Obviously we are not saying that people should only clean once a week: but what we are saying is that Steri-7 reduces the problems caused by human error. It is hard to know for certain that you have reached every centimetre every time you clean, but Steri-7 gives you peace of mind as you know that it works between cleans.

For more information, please contact Oli on 020 8786 0567 or visit www.steri-7.com

My story began this past Memorial Day weekend. My father was complaining of pain in his neck. The pain was unbearable. He was taken to ER where they gave him muscle relaxants and pain medicine. The pain continued through the weekend, with no relief.

On Tuesday, his physician admitted him to the hospital and an MRI showed an abcess in the epidural canal between the C3 and C4 vertebrate. By Wednesday morning he was beginning to lose the use of his right arm and shoulder.
The surgeon rushed him to surgery and drained the abcess.
It was found to be full of MRSA.

Over the next few days, a second surgery was necessary to again drain the abcess and this time the incision was left open with a wound vac to keep it free the wound area dry and thus eliminate an environment for MRSA to thrive.

After being isloated in the hospital for 3 weeks, dad was released and began a 6-week daily vancomycin IV regiment.
While he was in the hospital, I started doing research and found a MR... read more

MRSA and Manuka Honey Wound Dresssings
Started by Andrew Molan Posted: August 8, 2006 at 16:21
How many people in the MRSA Support Group are aware of the effectiveness of gamma-irradiated New Zealand Manuka honey with a high UMF value(antibacterial resistance scale)in the prevention and eradication of MRSA infections?

My brother is Professor Peter Molan, MBE, of the University of Waikato, and Director of New Zealand's Honey Research Institute. He has been promoting the use of Manuka honey in medicine for a quarter of a century and is a world authority on the subject.

Peter's remarkable wesite can be located at:

www.honeybio.ac.nz

The patented honey-impregnated wound dressings which Peter invented have been on the NHS approved list for the past 15 months. The firm producing them in the UK, under licence from the parent NZ company (Comvita) is Advancis of Nottingham.

Following Peter's advice MRSA has been virtually eradicated from the wards of Waikato Hospital, H... read more

Help for Healthworkers with Sensitive Skin

One of the reasons cited by ICNA for healthworkers not wanting to use some of the more stringent hand sanitisers is the effects it can have on the skin. We have also been told that alcohol rub can be unpopular for this reason. There are products out there for healthworkers with sensitive skin, so there is no excuse for poor hand hygiene. Here is one:

NEW DermaHydra™ is an alcohol-free, hand sanitizer, which is kills 99.99% of germs including MRSA and Ecoli within 15 seconds of application. It is was widely used in SE Asia to fight bird / Avian flu earlier this year.

DermaHydra™ is an antimicrobial product (i.e. antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial) it is specifically formulated with added aloe vera to be very gentle and maintain the skins integrity.

NASA has recently procured DermaHydra™ for use in the United Space Alliance Facility.

Alcohol based sanitizers do kill bacteria but take longer to do so, which can allow the bacteria to mutate. Alcohol also destroys th... read more

Yes it's a gutsy statement, but I can't tell you how grateful I am that God lead us down this path. Our story and remedy is at www.mrsaresources.com under the Support section in the Forum titled "Your MRSA/Superbug Experience". I think it's dated Nov. 19th We healed our son of MRSA!-Christi
I believe this stuff is so bad and serious because the doctors don't know what to do. They're trained in pharmacuetical medicine and the answer lies in natural medicine. Ny father was an M.D. an internist to be exact. I never would have thought you could get well without an antibiotic! But the antibiotics are killing both the good and the bad bacterias in our bodies.
Try what we did and see if it works!-See story for doses and schedule.
Three things 1) Probiotic-builds up good bacteria body needs to kill off the bad bacteria (MRSA)-strengthens the immune system, which is weakened after taking antibiotics!
2) Liquid Aloe Gold-eliminates bad bacteria and toxins.

This is a support site. Exactly.

These are not products for sale.

These are researched treatment articles by Japanese Doctors using kampo medicine, hoku-ekki-to, in treating resistant mrsa.

Please read the third article posted, all five pages.
mrsa was reduced rapidly within days. All tests were monitored by changes in immune system reactions.

Cause of MRSA
Started by mike Posted: July 6, 2006 at 19:01
http://www.rense.com/general48/found.htm

MRSA was created by the people in the dairy industry in the United States by using LS-50.

This is how it mutated and passed to humans.

We consumed it. Mutated steath bacteria.

Then it spread.

You can thank Monsanto.

NONE OF THIS WAS NECCESSARY HAD rBGH NEVER BEEN INTRODUCED IN 1993. rBGH WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INFECTIONS IN CATTLE. THEY IN TURN COMBATED THIS VICIOUS CYCLE WITH OVER 50 TYPES OF ANTIBIOTICS.

LISTEN TO ME.

THIS IS THE REASON WHY NO ANTIBIOTIC WILL STOP THIS. IT HAS MUTATED WELL BEYOND EVERY WEAK FORM OF ANTIBIOTIC THAT CAN BE ADMINISTERED TO HUMANS BECAUSE OF THE MOST POTENT ALREADY GIVEN TO DAIRY CATTLE, THE ILLEGAL MOST POTENT FORM, LS-50.

PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CONSUMING THE RESIDUES OF THESE ANTIBIOTICS IN MILK, DAIRY AND MEAT ALONG WITH THESE MUTATED PATHOGENS.

Re: Airborne MRSA
Reply #50 by Hillary Spicer Posted: June 5, 2006 at 18:33
The problem with UVGI and the reasons the NHS hasn't used it are:

1.Expensive for individual plug in the wall type units.
2.The UV has not been strong enough to put it where it would be best suited to this type of application, next to the A/C coil. This is because of the speed of air flow as it passes the UV.

These have all been solved but until recently have not been available in the UK.

Go to www.iaq.org.uk/tbs.htm

We anticipate a new case study from a university hospital in the USA will soon be published in a major medical journal. This study was into the effects of Steril-Aire's Emitters on airborne microbes and the resulting effects on Nosocomial infections. We know the study will conclude that the airborne microbe count was reduced significantly (90+%) and that the Nosocomial disease and upper respiratory infection also reduced dramatically (60%) resulting in savings in hospital tim... read more

Natural prevention/treatment
Started by Tom Ballard, ND Posted: May 25, 2006 at 19:28
I urge anyone concerned about MRSA to take a strong (25 billion active organisms) strain of probioitics (human (not cow) acidophilus culture). This is often the missing ingredient in boosting immune function against MRSA. Especially for those who have been on antibiotics which detroy good gut bacteria. Also, the Allimax line of stabilized allicin (800-299-1521) have been clinically tested against MRSA and are being use in England.
Best of health.

Electronic antibiotic

I feel strongly about this, so please don't think it's just a commercial plug. About 15 years ago I invented the 'Biogun', an electronic antibiotic which kills microbes on skin and in teeth. It's now a fully-certificated medical device used by podiatrists for athlete's foot, verrucae and infected ulcers. It's also used by dentists for tooth decay. A couple of years back a friend of mine contracted an MRSA infection in an ulcer on one toe, and it just got worse and worse until eventually it reached the bone, and she was looking at an amputation. In desperation, her husband borrowed a Biogun and treated it morning and evening for several weeks until it completely healed. We got a government grant to do lab tests and a pilot clinical study at Manchester Royal Infirmary, UK, and the results were broadcast on ITV News. Basically, it killed MRSA in the lab 100% in seconds, and in the clinical study it eradicated MRSA from the majority of small diabetic foot ulcers (time limitations were t... read more
