It would be presumptious to make any comments based on the information you have provided; however, I would suggest that you look at the following website: http://www.phageinternational.com/news/news.htm It lists many references on how mrsa and other infections are spread. Depending on your activities etc. you might be able to identify a possible source - good luck! 5589

Shannon - This type of MRSA infection is called Community Acquired. Sometimes, the source of infection can be located, but not always. There is a great website at http://www.caercoork.com/orsa.html that has a lot of useful info on it. We are trying to build an MRSA Support Group in the USA, like they have in the UK. In fact, Tony Field, the founder and Chairperson of the UK Support Group, will be coming to the USA on Aug. 22nd to lend his support in raising awareness of this problem in our country. (Thank you, Tony & Barbara Field!) Our website is www.mrsaresources.com. If you'd like to send me your postal address, I can send you a copy of Tony's booklet, "MRSA - A Patient's Defence!" You can e-mail me at drej424@yahoo.com. Please add your name to our prayer chain at www.mrsaresources.com if you'd like. 5590

There is a excellent book entitled: The Killers Within - the deadly rise of drug-resistant bacteria by M. Shnayerson & M.J. Plotkin, Little, Brown and Company, 2002 - ISBN 0-316-71331-7 - (hc). The soft cover version is now out and is available at most major book stores as a shelf item - very good information to help you. 5606

MRSA has a definite pattern, one big blister, usually looks black deep inside. And there's two small blisters, wayyyyy smaller to the right of the big blister. The first small one is lower than the big one & to the right. The other smaller one is to the right of the first small one & slightly lower. Both times I've had it, the blister came up in the EXACT same places as the blisters came up the first time a yr. & 1/2 ago! Before I got it the the second time I had chills, fever & horrible knee, joint & bone pain. After the blisters popped up the pain in those areas were excruciating! It can get to your bones, or organs through your blood veins. It is serious & can sometimes be FATAL! Some doctors don't appear to recognize what it is! I investigated what I had when I got it the second time & told the doctor what it was...He looked it up, did a culture & sure enough, bingo! These days people HAVE to take things in their own hands to help doctors figure out what you have! It's sad but very, very true! Good luck & God bless! 24157
