new to MRSA ... many questions

I have had MRSA for just under two weeks. It started on my right calf below my knee and another abscess showed up on my lower left butt cheek several days after that. I am constantly draining and wrapping these in gauze and have been on the antibiotic Sulfameth/Trimethoprim for a week now. I am terrified of even the slightest little bump on my body. How long can this possibly go on? It makes me feel disgusting, not to mention very tired and achy. Here are some general questions, and if anyone could help me out, I'd be so appreciative: Will I ever be truly rid of this, or will it always be in my system, even once I'm done taking antibiotics and the physical symptoms have faded? I've been on antibiotics for a week now - what is the likelihood that this could spread to yet another location on my body? How soon and how often should I thoroughly sanitize my apartment (and wash my clothes in hot water)? Should I wait until my physical symptoms have cleared or start now? What about things like contact lenses, cosmetics, toiletries, etc.? What about the clothes that I haven't worn while being affected by MRSA? What about pets? I have a cat, and while I realize that she is unable of contracting MRSA, should I wash her? Is she capable of carrying this and therefore able to pass it back to me? I am so paranoid about every little thing possibly holding on to this bacteria. I'm sorry if some of these questions seem a bit naive, I just have so many and feel very lost. MRSA is absolutely one of the hardest things I've been through. I would appreciate some words of advice or encouragement from those who have been through it. Thanks. 23790
