MRSA in broken hip

Broken hip 7 weeks ago fell of my own horse and kicked me, First operation good then I had to have second operation, then I picked up MRSA and nothing would respond to it, so I had to wait while they grew the bug but in the mean time I had to go into intensive care 7 days, life support machine three days and total of 5 operations 3 blood transfusions, home now thanks to the lord, very week and tired starting out patiants soon and physio to get my leg working again, my age 51, does any body know if I will have any other after effects.

Sorry too hear about your experience David. Unfortunately my only personal experience of MRSA, is that of my late mum who also had cancer. She was a very resilient person, but the MRSA left her exhausted and weak. It robbed us of the last weeks of quality time with her.

There are many people on this forum who will be able to share their experiences with you. I do hope you will start to feel stronger soon. Speak to your GP to see if they can offer you advice.

my dad was in intensive care with acute pancreatitus. he was getting better then contracted mrsa on tuesday last week, he died on the thursday age 47. yet hospital didnt put mrsa in the death certificate, nor did they initiate a post mortem, im beside myself with guilt as my grandad is in denial and the western infirmary are getting away with this

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR DAD CHRISTINE I LOST MY DAD LAST YEAR HE HAD HEART PROBLEMS HE ALSO CONTRACTED MRSA AND IT WAS NOT ON HIS DEATH CERTIFICATE YOU MUST FEEI VERY ANGERY AT THE WESTERN THE SAME WAY I FEEL ABOUT THE ROYAL INFIRMARY PUT YOUR ANGER AND GUILT ON HOLD JUST NOW AND TRY AND SUPPORT YOUR GRANDDAD HE WILL NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER BEFORE THERE WILL COME A TIME WHEN THE WESTERN HAVE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS BUT YOUR GRANDAD NEED YOU NOW QUESTIONS CAN BE ANSWERED LATER GOD BLESS JACKIE
